The Ironsides Lubricants Ltd have established and implemented Health & Safety Management system to manage risk associated with our premises and activities which are regularly monitored to ensure our high performance in Health & Safety is maintained and we also review the necessary objectives and targets to achieve continuous improvements.
We communicate and consult with all our employees on all issues affecting their Health & Safety and, in doing so bring this policy to their attention. At Ironsides Lubricants we also provide adequate training for all our staff, to enable them to work safely and effectively. We ensure they are competent and confident in the work they carry out.
We also ensure that the responsibilities for Health & Safety are cascaded by the Hierarchy of control and understood, monitored and fulfilled at all levels within the organisation and employ and full qualified Health & Safety staff who, ensure that we remain up to date with all legal compliance.
The IRONSIDES LUBRICANTS Board is committed for Implementing the Policy.
This will be achieved by:
- Provide training and instruction where necessary to enable employees to perform their work safely and efficiently.
- Provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment taking account of statutory requirements.
- Make available and maintain all necessary safety devices and protective equipment and supervise their use.
- Maintain constant and continuing interest in health and safety matters applicable to the Company activities, in particular by consulting and involving employees in all relevant health & safety matters.
- Provide employees with all necessary personal protective equipment to enable them to perform their work safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections & audits of our safety processes and systems to help maintain a proactive environment of continuous improvement.
The Managing Director of The Ironsides Lubricants Ltd will be responsible for ensuring the co-ordination, implementation and reviewing, as necessary, of The Ironsides Lubricants Ltd policy for Health & Safety.
The Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental Manager has the delegated responsibility to co-ordinate daily health and safety requirements within the company.
All employees have a legal duty to undertake reasonable care for the health, safety and welfare of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their act or omissions at work.
Our Policy ensures our compliance with full legislation and personal commitment to all our employees & visitors.
The Directors and Management Team of The Ironsides Lubricants Ltd are fully committed to the protection of the environment, prevention of pollution, compliance with and fulfilment of; our compliance obligations.
The Ironsides Lubricants Ltd operates an Integrated Business Management System which is designed to comply with and where possible exceed, the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001:2015.
The scope and context of this policy covers all of The Ironsides Lubricants Ltd operations and business support functions, based on our single site of operations: The Ironsides Lubricants Ltd, Shield Street, Stockport, Cheshire SK3 0DS. The scope includes the blending and supply of lubricating greases & oils. The context includes our obligations to employees, customers, shareholders, suppliers, contractors, local council and neighbours; identified within the EMS.
This policy will be reviewed at least quarterly as part of Management Review and made available to all interested parties.

This will be achieved by:
- Ensure that environmental management is an integral part of our business culture by communicating the Environmental Policy to all employees and other interested parties.
- Ensure that the needs and expectations of interested parties are considered and where relevant; actions are put in place to address them.
- Ensuring objectives and targets are determined and addressed to drive continual improvement of our EMS.
- Consider the life cycle of our products to ensure we achieve our environmental objectives:
To reduce energy and resource consumption
To control the amount of waste generated
To reduce emissions to air
To prevent pollution
To reduce, re-use and recycle wherever possible.
Continuously monitor and improve our products and processes.
- Ensure that goods and services are procured in a sustainable manner and encourage our suppliers and contractors to improve their own environmental performance.
- Ensure adequate resources to maintain the EMS are available including, training support and encouragement.
