Investment

As part of our continuous improvement plan, we are pleased to announce that we have invested in a new cartridge filling machine which will help us cope with an increasing demand for that type of packaging.

Ironsides lubricants already sells over 6 Million cartridges per annum and this new equipment will help increase this volume by over 15% as well as provide better manufacturing flexibility, improved lead times and better customer service.

Stockport Regeneration Plan

https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/stockport-town-centre-regeneration-project-17025872

Back in 2018 the Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC), where Ironsides Lubricants is currently located, proposed plans to redevelop the Stockport Town Centre West as part of its vision for the area for the next 10 to 15 years. This includes where Ironsides Lubricants’ factory is currently based.

Those ambitious plans for the whole town centre focus on increasing the residential area and make Stockport an even more attractive place to live for the growing town population and to bring forward all the amenities and social infrastructure needed to support the existing and future community.

Ironsides Lubricants has been in regular contact with SMBC in order to determine the impact on our business, register our support for the proposed plans, whilst maintaining and developing employment within the Stockport area (so remain located in or around Stockport).

With growing demand for our products, Ironsides Lubricants recognises the need for our manufacturing facility to expand in order to accomplish our future growth plans. Unfortunately our current site located on Shield Street offers limited scope for such expansion.

The new proposals from SMBC for the regeneration of the Stockport Town Centre facilitate this decision to move to larger premises.

Our relocation plans are now gathering pace and we are now actively seeking new premises within the Greater Manchester area. It is worth reiterating that those plans are for the next 10 to 15 years and that Ironsides Lubricants will continue manufacturing all its products as usual until then.

We would therefore like to reassure all our customers and partners that Ironsides Lubricants’ primary objective for this future business relocation is to achieve the growth ambitions set out in our business plans and to improve our product offering, quality and service levels.

We will update all our customers and partners with the progress of this relocation plans in due course and when appropriate. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact your account manager if you have any further questions.
